I recently got my hands on what I consider one of the crown jewels of animated DVD collecting: the tinbox from 2012. For those unfamiliar, this is the French (Wild Side Video) release, and it’s an absolute unit.

This isn’t just a cardboard slipbox. It’s a sturdy, embossed metal tin with a hinged lid. The artwork is classic, vibrant Tex—full of exaggerated expressions and his signature lunacy. Inside, the discs are housed in a glossy digipak with more period-perfect art. It’s heavy, it feels premium, and it takes up serious shelf space (in a good way).
