The layout of a Pertamina SPBU (Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Umum) is designed for efficiency, safety, and customer convenience. Its structure can be divided into four main zones: the fueling area, the service building, the storage zone, and the exit lane.

This is the most visible part of the station. A large steel canopy shelters the dispensing pumps. Typically, there are several pump islands, each serving two vehicles (left and right). The pumps are color-coded based on fuel type: green for Solar (diesel), blue for Pertalite (RON 90), and red for Pertamax (RON 92/95). This area is strictly one-way to prevent accidents.

Behind the pumps stands the main building, which houses the Bright Store (Pertamina’s mini-market). Here, customers can pay via cash, debit, or the MyPertamina card. The building also contains the operator’s control room, which monitors fuel flow and pump meters.

Beneath the ground near the back of the station lies the fuel storage system. This consists of double-walled fiberglass or steel tanks that hold thousands of liters of gasoline and diesel. This zone features a vapor recovery system and a dedicated grounding rod to prevent static electricity. The fire extinguisher (APAR) box and emergency shut-off buttons are located at every corner of this zone.
