The moderator reads from a golden card: “Did you create the Thorn of Veritas to destroy the Garden?” But one throne is empty
“You think they’ve forgotten?” the reflection whispers. “The missing funds. The forged letter. The girl who used to sit where you sit now.”
She points to the back of the room. The doors open. walks in—alive, but different. Her hair is gray at the temples. Her eyes glow faintly red.
