🔒 As of 2018, Huawei removed the ability for users to request official bootloader unlock codes. Any tool claiming to generate a code for a Kirin 980, 990, or newer chipset is likely malware.

There has been some renewed chatter about the so-called "Eggbone" tool or similar DC-Unlocker / HCU-Clients for generating bootloader unlock codes for Huawei devices.

However, and no longer provides codes. Modern Huawei devices (2019–present) do not support this method due to security patches and changes to e-fuse technology.
